Knife FAQs

What's included?

Your Rivery Zero comes ready for action with a straight utility blade pre-installed. Inside the box you’ll also find a serrated blade, a Rivery Mfg sticker, two Zero stickers, a Life Saver mint, and a quick-start guide.

To complete the experience, you can choose a free leather or paracord lanyard, and enjoy free nationwide courier delivery.

What blade does the Zero use?

The Zero accepts all standard 2-notch utility blades (often called trapezoid or Stanley-type blades). You can replace blades easily without the need for any tools. Pick up a 10-pack of spare blades from us before you checkout to keep your Zero sharp!

My Zero came apart while changing the blade — how do I reassemble it?

Don’t worry — it can happen when you are new to the Zero. Watch the video above titled How do I put my Zero back together?. It walks you through the process step by step, showing how to reassemble your Zero and correctly position any internal parts that may have shifted during a blade change. Once you’re familiar with the mechanism, you’ll find it easy to handle without it coming apart again.

Should I lubricate my Zero?

Yes — occasional cleaning and a drop of light lubricant (such as our knife oil) in the sliding channels will keep your Zero performing smoothly. Refer to the Maintenance Guide video below for a visual walkthrough.

Can I use the Zero if I'm left-handed?

Yes you can. Here is a nice video on the subject of left-handed use from Michael Sayers (the creator of the Zero), who is left-handed himself.

Is there a warranty?

Yes — all Zero knives include a two-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. Normal wear, cosmetic marks, or damage caused by misuse are not covered.
